Thoughts for the day: on migration of digital content

I can move content from Vox the old fashioned way, by copy/pasting. It doesn’t move images so that’s something I’ll have to think about. Do I drag drop from Vox tab to SS tab and use Vox bandwidth? That’s the easiest solution, but not the cleanest. But, to be honest, it’s probably a case of doing it that way or not doing it at all. Uploading images to SS piecemeal is way too much of a time gobbler.

It’s nice to be getting that excited feeling about blogging again. SS is giving me that feeling. It’s such a nice interface and easy to use, so it’s a no brainer to get content online. I can have my original site here as well, the celticguitartalk.com/assets/ one, although I will keep that domain and so the site might as well sit where it is and I can think about doing something else over here. Yeah, that would make more sense. My real life and digital life have both changed rather a lot since I built that site!

And to that end, do I really need to import from Vox? My fear is that I’ll lose my content, but I would hope that Vox would provide a way of getting one’s content out if Vox were to go away, otherwise I imagine that there would be a bit of an uproar. So I could just start afresh with the journal content as well, a sort of new beginning as it were. A place to ramble about whatever I feel like rambling about, to add photos, video, audio for friends and family? Ah, but there’s the cost. SS has bandwidth and storage limits and costs real money. Vox does not.
